Shame Book Tag 2017

A couple days ago I stumbled upon an interesting blog post on Thrice Read‘s blog site. You can check out what I read here. It was interesting to read his “to read” list of novels. His list called out to me because I also have an ever growing collection of books in my possession.

The many novels I own could be in my possession due to many reasons. Some of the novels I have were written by authors I love, some are novels I thought carried a catchy title, some of the books simply had an enjoyable cover, and some are there because someone recommended them to me. In fact, there are many reasons to why I may have a book in my hands. The collection has grown to a point that it is about time to put my foot down and knock some of these novels off my “to read” list.

I took the time to write up four lists of books I want to try to complete this coming year. I’m not going to promise I will finish them all, but I will do my best to knock a few off these lists.

We’ll start right away with the list I consider to be the most shameful on my part and work from that point on.

  • Body Double by Tess Gerritsen
  • Sleeping Beauty: Vampire Slayer by Maureen McGowan
  • Mistress by David Ellis and James Patterson
  • The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer

I am more of a romance novel collector, but there are a few other genres for some variety. My goal is to knock out a few from each list before 2017 is over. I want to read more of the books I own before I try to make another book purchase. I am going to hold off for a little while before I even think about buying something new.
Do you have a long list of novels you want to finish? What are some books you own and haven’t read?
